The following instruction will guide you on how to set up your CSV file and import your products.  Reading this document will help you format your CSV so that the data and images will import successfully.  We advise that if you’re importing an Etsy file you create a copy of your Etsy CSV and then make modifications to import the data.

Importing the CSV will save countless hours of time and will get your store up and running quickly.

!Important: As a test we advise that you create a CSV file with only 1 product and then import this so that your get it perfectly set up, it is also easier to delete the single product if it has important incorrectly.  Once you are happy with the import and have checked your product on the store page.  Then you can add all your products and be assured that everything will import smoothly.

Please take your time when creating, re-formatting your CSV file to ensure the best possible experience.

In the CSV delimiter option, you can change this to whichever delimiter you wish to use.  A delimiter is a character which separates the data columns.  The most common delimiter is a comma ‘,’ but occasionally you may see full stops etc.  Do no use the pipe ‘|’ delimiter, we have reserved this for your multiple image URL upload.

If you are using a comma as the delimiter, you can use the default option.

Click “Continue” to begin Column Mapping.

Column Mapping

We are able to auto map columns based on the column names in the CSV file.  It may be best to reformat the CSV file column name headers before uploading.  However, if you find that columns haven’t mapped correctly you can manually change the column mapping here.

We are able to map the following fields:

COLUMN MAP NAME COLUMN FUNCTION DATA EXAMPLE Data Notes
sku Stock Keeping Unit ARTA354637 This should be a unique number format for your store.
name Product name Product Name One  If it contains a comma, remember to enclose it with double quotes ‘ ” ‘.

Importing Long Text (which contains commas)

CSV files use commas ‘,’ as a delimiter to separate the data in the columns.  Long text may also contain commas for grammar.  This can cause errors during the import if the long text has not been formatted correctly.  To avoid any errors on import make sure that you surround the long text with double quotes ‘ ” ‘.  Please see the example in the data table below.

Importing Multiple Images

We have mentioned that the tool is capable of downloading your image from another store and then importing it with your product into your shop.  It is important that you use the pipe ‘|’ delimiter to separate the URL’s in the data cell.  Please see the example in the data table below.

Column Mapping Example

The following example is a row of data in a CSV file.  You can see the header column names match the column mapping fields in the table above.

!Important: Your image URLs for the product will go into one cell.  Each URL is separated using the pipe ‘|’ delimiter which we have reserved for this data type.

  • The first URL in the list will be uploaded and added the product main feature image.
  • The remaining URL’s in the list will be added to the product image gallery in order 1,2,3 etc.
